I joined lighterlife on 20th Jan 04 weighing in at 14stone 5lb. I have found it relatively easy. I had a blip and gained 3lb but up until today I have lost 24lb but as I said I put on 3lb lost it last week so still lost 24lb. I go to my class tonight so I will see how much more I have lost. I found going back on the diet once back in ketosis I had the headaches again like I did when I first started the programme, but hey ho it's my fault, so back on the band wagon again. Has any one else slipped from the programme? I find that the hardest time for me with the major carb binges is a week before my period and during I could murder for pastry items, biscuits well food in general. I put on all my weight through having Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome I just ballooned. I was a size 12 before and 10 stone. If any of you adore coffee I have been told by our councellor that there is a sugar free, calorie free instant coffee made by Boaters they have a range of flavours, Hazelnut, Orange Mocha, Irish Cream like baileys and they are absolutely scrummy. You can get them at Sainsbury's and Tesco's. Well I would love to hear from you.

Hi Sarah, it's Amanda from our class. You are doing really well and you must be near to your target weight now. I was 17stone 3 pounds which was my absolute heaviest and I find it embarassing to say that because I am only 20. I am now down to 14 stone 13 and still have quite a bit to go but this diet is definatley the best diet ever. Also don't beat yourself up about your slip-up/s I think everyone has done it and I am doing it tonight. You have done really well and if you could do it before you can do it again I know thats easy to say but you will be fine. Also if you out grow any other of your size 18 trousers please don't cut 'em up because i have just gone down to that size and finding hard to keep buying new clothes
Are you a member of the yahoo site? There are some before and after photos on there and its also quite good. Just send an email to this lighterlifers-subscribe@yahoogroups.co.uk saying a few details about yourself and then you just have to wait a bit for them to accept you.
Anyway keep drinking that water and have a really great birthday.
luv Amanda xx

Hiya Sarahkate, welcome to the group, and thanks for the info about the coffee! I shall be looking into that for sure :O) As Amanda says you'd be very welcome to join the lighterlife group that we started on Yahoo. Just click the link in her post and one of the moderators will reply to you, once you're a member you can see the pics and post messages and get loads of support. Also if you post your messages on this board onto the main Lighterlife thread then you'll see that 1000's of messages have been posted and just about all of us have slipped on the programme at one time or another and we have helped each other get back on track ... good luck and I hope we chat soon.. twinkle :O)

Hi everyone sorry not posted for a while, hope every one is okay and working hard? I am on my 10th week today and at my last weigh in which was monday i had lost another 7lb bring me to a total of 3stone 12lb, and that was in 9 weeks and 2 days. Really wanting to get to the 4 stone mark this monday. I am feeling really great haven't even had a bread crumb in 10 weeks and still feel really focused to keep going to my goal which is another 5st and 9lb still sounds alot but sure sounds better than 9 stone!! I will get there. We are off out this weekend to a party and there will be food and drink, but how great does it feel not to be thinking about that, all i want is to look nice and have a good time with my glass of water!! I went shopping yesterday and bought a size 18 trousers and a 16 top how great, i was a tight size 26 when i started, can't believe that now i look back how did i ever let my self get like like? Oh well only just 28 and have plenty of time to enjoy a slim life yet, yes i have wasted time but no time to be looking back, "here's to the future" for all of us. Food is to give us energy to live it isn't there to make us feel better about a bad day, or to help pass away a evening in frount of the tv, i can see that now, instead go out or have a swim, take the kids for a walk,or just read a book chocolate and takeaways are not a girls best friend, having fun and a laugh is what its all about. And looking in the mirror and just seeing you and not looking for your self under ten tons of fat. Have a fab weekend and here's to fun and friendship NOT FOOD. Take care and i will post soon "be good"
luv honey (sarah) Good luck to everyone on there journey and hi to anyone in Bristol who maybe reading, let me no which glass you are at.

Hi everyone! It's so great to find so many people enjoying the benefits and success of the LighterLife programme. I have my consultation with a local LL counsellor tomorrow.
I hate to bring things down to a commercial level but so far no one has told me about the 'cost'. Would someone PLEASE be so kind as to give me some indication of the financial commitment in starting/maintaining this programme? I don't know if it is a lump sum up front or weekly payments or???
I really need to do this and the thought that I may not be able to because I cannot afford it would be so disappointing. I have a whopping 9 stone to lose.
Best Wishes and thanks in advance...

Hi Helly, the minimum u will pay is 45.00 a week, then on the second week u can add water flavourings to the water which is 9.00 a tub and also savoury drinks which are 6.00 for a box of 12. You dont have to have the flavourings or savoury drinks, so u are looking at 45.00 a week.
Hope that helps byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee love geri x

Geri, you're a star! Thanks ever so much for that info! I would have hated to have gone through the consultation and then say 'sorry, can't afford it'. I think I might just be able to scrape through! Phew!!!
(and some peeps think that paying slimming clubs up to a fiver a week is a lot...haha...I know LL is very different but it's an investment in my eyes).

Hi, I am really pleased to see that this lighterlife program is working so well for everyone. I had a consultation a while back but did not follow through beleiving I could some how start another diet then another then another, plus the will power was not there but it is now as I am getting married and do not want to be a fat bride. I am going for my consultation soon and hope to start in May (after one more blowout for my bday)I am getting really excited now hearing that it really works!! Best of luck in your continuation. Liz

I will be starting lighterlife (dependant on Doctors signature) next week and thought I would join the forum so that I could ask for support on the difficult days.... the early days from what I hear.
I am not a coffee or celon tea drinker. For those of you who share in this, I have found that you are allowed to drink Red bush tea that is available in most supermarkets and I think it tastes great.
I have 3 stone to loose and will keep you all posted as I progress.
At least I don't have the problem of having to buy new clothes as I am a horder and have horded clothes that I don't fit into for years now. Can't wait to get back into those (now not so trendy) clothes.

hi, my sister has been doing ll since january & has done so well its spurred me on to join. i am just waiting for my local consultant to phone me back to book a cosultation. I know my sister has found it very easy to stick to, the only thing i'm worried about is cooking for the family & not being able to eat dinners myself, i don't want to be tempted. but i have set myself a goal & i am determined to reach it.

Hi all........I've been on LLife for 6 weeks now and have lost 29lb so far. The first week was not a pleasant experience as I had a headache for 3 days, felt tired, cold and longed for something to chew!!! However, before I knew it the first week was over and a massive 10lb had dropped off! I have found it much easier than I thought, although did feel a bit low last week but managed to stick with it. I think most people have good weeks and bad ones, but I find the dramatic weight loss, not having to worry about what you can eat and not feeling hungry is enough motivation to keep going. My sister lost 8 stone on the plan but recently came off it as she is now expecting a baby (so beware ladies......that new sexy body can be fatal!!). My 100 days are up the end of May, but as Ive another 3.5 stone to go, I will probably still be on LLife into June/July. Please dont feel like giving in, I know some of the foodpacks are hardly gourmet (I hate all the soups and currently live on Lemon Bars, Raspberry shakes and a hot chocolate before bed everynight), but keep at it and Im sure you will succeed. Keep us posted on how you are getting on...I will pop on a couple of times each week to have a look. Good Luck girls and keep up the good work.......and remember.....you can never have enough water!!!! :O)
