I was just calculating my BMI and it really feels like their ideal weights are wrong. I'm only 5ft 1, but I'm not a petite build...put it this way, last time I was 10stone, people told me I was a little too thin and they weren't far wrng - I was a size 8-10 and that was just a bit too little for me.
An ideal weight for my build is really 10 stone 7...and yet on the BMI calculator, I should be 9 stone 3, just to be in the 'healthy' category. Are these things right? I really would like to be in the healthy category but if I was 9 stone 3, I know I would look scrawny.
BMIs are only guidelines and do not suit everyone. I have a friend who is a rugby player and if i worked out his BMI he would be morbidly obese, but he is the fittest bloke you could ever meet and he has to carry the weight for his job. BMIs are good to give you a guide, but you know yourself when you feel fit and healthy so go by that, i do.

I would just stop when you're happy with your body! I've got a mental block that I want to get to a healthy weight for the first time in my life so I'm aiming for about BMI 24ish. However, if before this point I do feel happy with my weight I will stop!
It's whatever weight you feel suits you. But, don't always listen to those who tell you you're looking too thin. It's normally because they feel insecure about your weight loss!!!! And....as oldmummy says, they are only a guide.
