I was at Stepping Hill Hospital, stayed at ropey Davenport Hotel, so classy that the remote control was chained to the bedside table!

How close was I then??

It's not as dark as I thought it would be, but more ginger than I'd planned. Getting used to it now though. Bet yours is lovely, I long for shiny hair but it is not to be. At least my grey is temporarily concealed Wink

JUUUUDDDDE!!!! Mad TEN MINUTES...TEN TINY WEENY LITTLE MINUTES AWAY. OMG the Davenport Arms, I lived in a flat opposite there in my mis-spent youth but left after I woke up to find a strange man beside my bed nicking my fags (and no he wasnt invited, he broke in!) You could have stayed with meeeeeee Frowner

I wont take it personally, well not this time anyway. I gave birth to my girls in Stepping Hill and its where I go to get my bits done!

Think I'm on day 8 or 9 now and apart from the mystery of the disappearing vino (down my throat) last night, not going too badly. As you say, its one minute at a time, there is absolutely nothing easy about doing it this time round. I very nearly caved today but fortunately nipped to shops and tried a few clothes on, that was more than enough to keep me on the straight and narrow Frowner

Just going to pop on to my own thread now then I have to go to bed....stick at it mate, just think its twice as easy for you as me cos you have half as much to lose!

Hi Claire,

I drink about 5 pints of water a day; one with each meal and a few inbetween. Seems enough. I too had a sneaky weigh in, 3lb down which is about right for me. I did vow to wait for a week as I know how disheartening it can be when the scales don't shift every day.

Dipstick is telling me I am in mild ketosis.

I'm having some blood tests done tomorrow, one of which is a fasting test for diabetes, was wondering if it'll be affected by being in ketosis?

Keep up the good work, eyes on the prize and all that!

JudeX

NOOOO! Can't believe I was so close. MInd you I was with a colleague so wouldn't have been fair gatecrashing yours. Next time eh?

So has the vino done any damage? I was in ketosis last night but nipped out of it for a bowl of prawns, seem to be returning now though.

Aiming to lose the weight before the CD Christmas conference on Dec 6th. I'm also visiting family and an old school friend that same weekend so need to impress.

Have a good day.

JudeX[/QUOTE]

Hi jude, i don't know if being in ketosis would affect a fasting glucose result.... but generally they are testing for raised glucose levels in the blood so i wouldn't have thought it would have made a difference might be worth mentioning when you get the results though...
I am keeping going very determined at the moment... long may it last...like you i want to lose weight for a work night out and also i may be roped into visiting my old work for a night out so i don't want to be too lardy when i visit there was 1 or 2 people whomad every nasty comments when i lost the weight in the first place and they would love to see me now.. it wouldn't matter to them that i had a tough year.. but at least i can lose weight they will always be horrible (GO ME..GO ME))) Cool
catch you later.
