Hi, Ihave read your blog. Hindsight again like us all! I put my weight back on too (not all of it admitedly). You seem to be doing really well on abstinence - 9 weeks is great so my comment to you would be why give up now- you've come so far? I have just done the first week (the most difficult I think so as far as I am concerned that's the hard bit done). Just keep going. You're on the treadmill - there is no need to get off.

Now, about these hols. A little bit of psychology needed here! I live in Spain - lots of vino - too much vino - part of the weight problem. So, decided to give up alcohol completely. Not easy when it forms a huge part of your life here. But, I stopped overnight and worked with a shrink on the psychological side of things food & drink - does a glass of champagne make the sunset any more beautiful? No! Does the bottle of wine round the pool make the day anymore fun? NO! I lost 5 kilos just not drinking wine! I have been to Oz, Dubai, a wedding, BBQs, Barcelona Grand PRix, all sorts of places - no alsohol. Now, I am not saying go on hol and LL but go on hol and eat lean & green & ENJOY. Don't confuse food & drink with the pleasure of a holiday or anything else for that matter.

Keep going - you can do it!

Thanks for checking out my blog and for replying.
I agree with you about the sunset not being anymore beautiful, but I enjoy a drink on holiday and good food.
I think why shouldnt I have what I want on holiday and feel normal, I will have been on this for about 20 weeks by then and going back on it afterwards. And as I said, I work hard all year - so I am going to have whatever I want. I will stick with it until I go, and again when I get back and the comments I get from people at work etc are great.
Its hard when I go and have a 2-4 lb weight loss, when Ive been used to 6-8 lbs a week, but Im sticking to this until a date, rather than a weight goal. If I stick to it, I cant go wrong.
Please stay in touch.
